The proper first round draw for the 2017/18 FA Cup will take place on Monday evening.

It’s that time of the year again where the FA Cup takes attention and works itself into the fixture lists and clubs involved in the first round draw will find out their fates later this evening.

The proper first round draw itself will take place tonight (Monday October 17) at approximately 7.10pm with simultaneous live coverage on both BT Sport and BBC Two with programmes commencing at 7pm.

The first round proper stage of course sees entry for most English Football League clubs, with the Premier League and Championship joining later at the third round stage.

40 ties will be drawn tonight and games are set to take place over the weekend of November 3-6 and winners of first round ties will receive £18,000 from the FA’s prize fund.

The draw takes place at BT Sport’s studios in Stratford, presented by Lynsey Hipgrave with former FA Cup winner Dean Saunders drawing the balls along with a yet to be confirmed guest.

More to follow as the day progresses.
