Following on from the arrival of Chesterfield’s Armand Gnanduillet, new manager Micky Adams has added two more players to the squad.

Ahead of the midweek game against Mansfield Adams also loaned in Cardiff City striker Danny Johnson.

The 21 year old moved to us on a month long loan and made his starting debut in the midweek draw.

He signed for the Championship side in the summer after finishing as top scorer in the Northern League last season, notching up 56 goals in 61 games for Guisborough.

Speaking to the Official Site as his arrival was announced, Adams explained.

‘Danny was prolific for Guisborough last season and deserved his move to Cardiff. He’s a fantastic goalscorer who will be a real threat for us. Hopefully we can get him among the goals as quickly as possible.’

With Ben Davies loan spell ending, he has now returned to Preston North End. The left back made his debut against Exeter City and went on to feature in the games against Carlisle and Bury.

In his place we have now brought in centre back Josh Thompson who joins us from Colchester United until January.

The 23 year old started his career at Stockport County before moving to Celtic in 2009, and he had loan spells with Rochdale and Chesterfield, helping Chesterfield to lift the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy before he made the permanent move to Portsmouth in 2012, and then arrived at Colchester a year later.

He joins us in time to potentially make his debut against AFC Wimbledon this weekend.
