Manager Ronnie Moore had something to smile about this weekend as a late Ryan Lowe goal gave a return of all three points against MK Dons.

Speaking to the Official Site following Tranmere registering their first ever success at Stadium:MK, the gaffer joked that we don’t normally get much on that patch of grass, but we gave ourselves every chance as we kept ourselves in the game, didn’t make any overly silly errors and kept ourselves another clean sheet that allowed us to nick the game right at the death.

‘We weren’t brilliant in the first half and we had a little pop at half time about being more adventurous and having a bit of belief that we could win the game because I always thought we could. In the second half they came out and gave everything they’ve got and that’s all you can ask from them.’

Moore goes on to say that in the first half we were really causing our own problems, as with the man in the hole we were sitting back and defending too deep and given them all the time on the ball they needed, but once we pushed up more they had no choice but to go long, and that suited us.

As for the goal, Moore goes on to say it was a great ball from Cassidy, and Lowe finished it perfectly especially as he had been indicating to the bench it was time for him to come off because he had cramp, but Ronnie had told him to keep on going and thankfully he got his reward for that.

Ultimately, despite Dons having their own chances in the game, Moore does feel that we came out of the 90 minutes with our just rewards, but obviously there are things we can learn from the game and will be working to improve on, but overall he was just delighted for the fans who would’ve gone home happy after their long trip.
