Manager Rob Edwards and midfielder James Rowe have talked about our two all draw with Everton last night.

Starting with the gaffer, he told the Official Site that he was pleased with our overall performance in the game and he was delighted to see us battle back from being behind twice to the Premier League side.

‘It was great. The players were a bit slow at expressing themselves, I think they were a bit uptight in the first half. they did really well second half and got a couple of goals.’

Edwards goes on to say that they have been working hard on trying to play a certain way and in keeping a certain shape for that, and it was something we had to do because of the quality that Everton carry.

‘There’s enough ability in the dressing room for the league we’re playing in. Yes, we conceded two sloppy goals, but if they buy into what we want to do there’s enough ability and I think we’ll be a good team. It was a good night for us.’

Unfortunately, the gaffer also confirmed that Liam Ridehalgh will miss the start of the season following an ankle injury he picked up in the game against Rhyl.

Talking about the problem he said it’s likely to keep the defender sidelined for four to five weeks and it’s disappointing because he thought he was doing well and growing into pre season.

Rowe himself talked about the shape the team kept, given the game plan and he was also delighted to have got on the score sheet himself.

‘I thought the boys did well. We kept our shape and we knew it was going to be tough but I think we acquitted ourselves well. I’m delighted to get the goal but it’s more about the lads – they did us proud.’
