Ellison signed for Rovers from Hull City back in 2006 for a fee believed to be around 100k. Ellison made 30 appearances and scored 4 times during his debut season.

Chester then made a bid for Ellison in June 2007, and returned to the club for a record breaking fee.

Chester were relegated in League Two this season, and Ellison was a key player released by Chester as they couldn`t afford his wages.

Kevin signed a two year deal for Rotherham yesterday; Manager Mark Robins told the advertiser:

‘Kevin can play left, right, down the middle and even at left-back and he will become a valuable member of our squad.’

‘He’s 6ft 2in and he’s a hardrunning player who is good in the air. He knows our league inside out and the higher one as well and he’s committed himself to us for two years.’
