Former Tranmere boss John Barnes is set for a return to football management with national side Rwanda.

Barnes was sacked as Tranmere manager in October 2009 after just four months in charge, and now looks set for a challenge in Africa.

Newspapers such as the Daily Mirror and The Sun are reporting Barnes is ‘close` to being appointed the national boss of Rwanda

Barnes’ agent Winston Clarke said: ‘John has one thing on his agenda – to spur Rwandan football to greater heights.’
