Former Tranmere Rovers striker Delroy Facey was arrested on Friday following the suspicion of his involvement in stabbing a young local man in Huddersfield town centre.

Facey, 29 and another man were arrested moments after a man was stabbed.

Currently playing his trade in Nottingham with debt ridden Notts County, the Yorkshire man`s football career could be in doubt if he is found guilty.

After starting his career with his boy hood club Huddersfield he showed a lot of promise, which seen Premier League side Bolton Wanderers secure his services on a Bosman transfer.

He failed to live up to his potential and signed briefly for West Brom and Hull City. He continued to drop down the Leagues and had spells with Oldham Athletic, Tranmere Rovers, Gillingham and Rotherham.

Now his future is surely in the balance if he is to be found guilty.
