Defender Matt Hill has today put pen to paper on a one year contract with Tranmere Rovers.

The 33 year old joined us on non contract terms over the summer, and has gone on to make five appearances for us so far on that basis.

The left back spent the last two seasons with Sheffield United, and came for a trial spell with us following his release by them.

Speaking to the official site as the news was announced, manager Rob Edwards said.

‘Matt has done really well since he’s been here. He’s fitted in really well with the squad and shown a fantastic attitude. He came here and helped us when we were short of numbers and he fully deserves this contract.’

Edwards goes on to say that he’s proven so far that he’s a strong and reliable defender, who is also good going forward – grabbing himself two assists last Saturday in the game against Morecambe.
