New signings Liam Hogan and Lois Maynard have given their first interviews having signed their new deals at Tranmere.

Both interviews are carried by the Official Site so we’ll begin with Hogan who explained.

‘You look at the stadium and the facilities and I’ve recently moved nearby so, all in all, it was a no brainer. It’s a massive club and it’d be nice to be a part of a success story to get Tranmere back into the league and back in the direction they should be going. Having met with the manager and seen the players he is bringing in, it can only look good for the season ahead.’

The aim is obviously promotion at the first time of asking.

‘We’ll have a good squad of players to push for promotion straight away if we can. You’ve seen Bristol Rovers bounce back straight away, it’d be nice if we could do that too.’

Maynard also talked about the stature of the club in his interview.

‘Being from the North West, I know the stature of the club and I’m here to contribute in the task to get it back where it belongs to be. When I got here, I looked up and it’s a really nice stadium and I can’t wait to play here. I thrive off the challenge, and to play at such a great stadium for a great club like Tranmere Rovers, I’m really excited.’

Talking about Gary Brabin and Mark Palios ambitions for the club, he’s fully on board with that but he knows next season will be difficult as the Conference is a tougher league than many give it credit for.

‘I’ve listened to the manager and the chairman and they both share the same vision. I want to be a part of that. I’ve spoken to the manager and what he wants to do with the team and with me personally and I was happy with what he was saying. Every season the Conference gets harder, you’ve got so many teams who are trying to get out of it so it’s going to be tough but we’ve got to be positive. We’ve all got to stick together and share the same vision and, if we do that, then I don’t see why we can’t go up.’
