Dale Jennings continued his comeback from a groin injury with two goals that helped Shaun Garnett’s reserve side to a 2-0 win against Bury on Wednesday night.

The winger has been out of action since early February, and with Lateef Elford-Alliyu expected to miss the weekends game against Colchester, there’s every possibility the youngster could feature.

In a pre-match press conference, Les Parry told Tranmere’s official site: ‘Dale played for an hour last night in the reserves. We took him off because he was just feeling a bit tight and we didn’t want to chance him for any longer. He scored a header early in the first half and then a finish coming in off the left. He worked hard, did well and is back on the trail to get back in the first team. The chances are if he’s fully fit he’ll play.’

Amongst the others that came through Rovers reserve game were Ryan Fraughan and Alan Mahon, who have both been sidelined with injuries for most of this year.

Tim Cathalina was the only casualty from Wednesday night after picking up a hamstring injury in the second-half that will have to be assessed before Saturday.
