Midfielder Jason Koumas bagged his first goal since returning to the club in the game against Bristol City, and he’s now hoping he can add a fair few more between now and the end of the season.

Koumas put in a good performance, and obviously also grabbed our second equaliser of the day and speaking to the Official Site he admitted the goals we conceded were poor as even on the first one he feels we could’ve done more to stem it during the build up, but he was delighted with the attitude and the character of the entire squad as we kept going and kept plugging away until we got the least we deserved for our efforts.

‘I thought we controlled it first half, we were very comfortable but just couldn’t get chances. It’s a good point and we can take it into the next game, it was a good performance.’

Koumas says that Ashton Gate is a tough place to come and our aim ahead of the game was simply not to get beat so we could draw a line under the Preston defeat, but with how the game went there is disappointment that we didn’t do more with our chances and come out with all three points.

However it’s a good confidence boost and we simply must carry that attitude and belief through to the game in midweek because in Koumas’ eyes the game is very winnable and it’s one we should be looking to come out of with all three points.

For him, his first goal since his return has taken a while to come, but he now feels that he can get on some kind of run now especially as his fitness and sharpness is right and he feels his own performances are improving game on game.
