Midfielder Jason Koumas has today put pen to paper on a new 12 month contract with Tranmere Rovers.

The former Welsh international rejoined football and Tranmere last summer having spent two years out of the game, and quickly re-established himself as a key part of the first team.

Football Operations Director Mick Horton told the Official Site.

‘We are delighted Jason has agreed to lead our attempts to make an instant return to League One. He showed his dedication to the club by playing on in the last weeks of the season, despite carrying a toe injury that left him limping for days. His presence in the dressing room will also be invaluable as we look to introduce young players to the team next season.’

Since returning to the club Koumas went on to make 34 appearances for us across all competitions last season, and scored four goals in that time.
