Mark Allot today told the press his reasons for choosing Rovers over North West neighbours Oldham.
Mark told the club’s official website today :
‘I was only offered a year at Oldham but I thought I was good enough to get a two year deal but it wasn’t to be. Then I heard about the interest from Tranmere, I spoke to the Manager and it all just happened really quickly.
His views on Tranmere…
‘Tranmere seems a good family club and everybody I’ve met has been nice. I’m looking forward to meeting the other players as most of them are away on holiday at the moment.I can’t wait to get started in pre season, you do get bored at home and I’m ready to go now.
Allot also expects to challenge for a play off place:
‘The Manager knows the league well and with just missing out on the play offs last season hopefully we can challenge this year and go one step further.Ronnie knows a lot about these divisions and he’s got a keen eye for a player. In my younger days I played up front, but while I was at Oldham I was asked to play a holding midfield position but whatever the manager wants me to do I’m pleased to do that.’
