Rovers assistant manager Jason McAteer was delighted with the players efforts against Colchester on Saturday, ‘Macca hailed the effort ‘Magnificent’.

Tranmere drew with Colchester and ended the six games losing streak, ‘Macca insisted it’s about the team being honest with each other and to keep working hard.

Speaking after the game on Monday, Jason told Tranmere Player:

‘It felt like a win. It’s about making little steps and it was a step towards what we’re trying to do. The effort was magnificent, they applied themselves brilliantly and the quality was good. I don’t think we got our just rewards but we stopped the rot.

Tranmere travel to Adams Park tomorrow night looking to collect points after the horrific start of the season, speaking before the match McAteer said the players must match there performance from Saturday in terms of ‘manner’ tomorrow night and for the rest of the season to achieve good results so that Rovers can get out of this relegation form.
