Jason McAteer’s thoughts ahead of the game at Gigg Lane.

Assistant manager Jason McAteer has insisted to the players they must not repeat there performance from Saturday against Millwall, regardless of what competition it is.

Tranmere travel to Bury tonight in the 2nd round of the Johnston`s Paint Trophy, over the years many managers have criticized the competition saying it`s a waste of time, however ‘Macca has said Rovers will go to Gigg Lane ‘striving to win the game.

“It`s got nothing to do with what competition we`re in tomorrow, the priority is winning a football match. That`s what what we`ll be striving to do”

The referee for tonight is Mr Andy Haines, who last took charge of a Rovers game last season against Huddersfield at home a match Tranmere won 3-1.
