Ronnie Moore has said he was delighted with Tranmere’s first win against Oldham, and he believes the referee got the penalty call spot on.

Speaking to the Official Site following the late penalty by Ryan Lowe giving us a one nil victory, the manager said.

‘We’re playing a new system and in the first half it didn’t really work. We couldn’t get players on the ball, but we had a lot more of the ball in the second half, we got players forward and were brighter. We created one or two chances but not many, there weren’t many in the game. We got a bit of luck at the right time and it’s pleasing for me to come here and win because they love to hate me here.’

Moore adds that defensively he thought we were good especially as fon Williams didn’t really have much to do as those in front protected him well.
