Tranmere Rovers striker Ian Moore has today signed a new two-year contract at Prenton Park.

The former Leeds United, Bradford City, Nottingham Forest, Stockport County, Burnley and Hartlepool United striker made 50 appearances for Tranmere last season scoring 11 goals.

Moore has recently been linked with a move to rivals Oldham. The news may come a shock for some Rovers fans following the sack of his father Ronnie Moore.

New manager John Barnes admitted he was delighted to have secured the services of the former England U21 International, he told www.tranmererovers.co.uk :

‘I’m delighted Ian has decided to stay at the Club.’

‘He is a very experienced player who is a proven goal scorer. I look forward to working with him, and the rest of the squad, in pre-season training.’

Ian Moore added:

‘I’ve really enjoyed my time back at Tranmere and am happy to have signed a new contract at the Club.

‘I’m looking forward to the new season and hopefully we will push for promotion.’
