Manager Ronnie Moore has said that although he’s delighted with the result against Accrington Stanley in the first round of the FA Cup, he was less pleased with the performance of the players.

Speaking to the Official Site following the one nil victory, the gaffer said.

‘I’m disappointed with the way we played, we’ve played a lot better than that this season but we dug it out. We tried to win the game and it was a great ball from Jean-Louis and a hell of a finish (by Lowe).’

Moore continued to say that he felt we were very poor in the first 20 minutes and we got lucky that Accrington didn’t make us pay during that spell, but despite having a number of efforts, they didn’t really trouble our keeper but on another day that could’ve been very different indeed.

At half time he admits they had a few words about our defensive performances but credit to the players they hung in there and we did improve after the break and he wants to go as far as far as we can in the Cup this season again following our progress to the third round last season.
