Tranmere left back Zoumana Bakayogo has signed a new contract with Rovers which will expire at the end of the season.

The 23 year old was John Barnes’s last signing and signed for the club on a short term deal until January.

A host of League One clubs were in for the French born defender including League One giants Leeds United. However Zoumana has rejected offers elsewhere in order to extend his stay at Prenton Park.

The former Millwall defender was delighted to have signed a new deal, he told www.tranmererovers.co.uk :

‘I’m very happy to have signed. I really like this club and the players and I’m happy here.

I enjoy every day on the training ground and I’m looking forward to the rerst of the season.’
