Caretaker boss Les Parry today gave his pre-match thoughts ahead of the 125th anniversary game at home to Swindon this Saturday.

Rovers are currently sitting in 23rd place in League One whilst Swindon are 11th , 9 points ahead of Tranmere.

Speaking before the game Les told Tranmere player:

“It’s a massive game for us. If we’d been drawn away in the cup we’d have been like the Harlem Globetrotters. We could have gone through November with just one home game, so this match is important for us and we’ll be hoping to get three points.

It’s our job to show the players the positives from the Hartlepool game and how well they played. We have to try to minimise the loss in confidence from the game.

A couple of wins on the bounce would lift the club tremendously. Historically we’ve been a strong team at home so we’ve got to get back on track.”

Les also commented on the quality support Tranmere fans have given him and his players since he has taken over his care taking position and hopes the fantastic support continues.

Parry said:

‘Hopefully the crowd will contribute towards the players putting on a show. The fans have been fantastic for the last three games, at Hartlepool they didn’t shut up for the whole 90 minutes.

If it’s the same on Saturday I don’t think there’s any doubt the players will give them a performance. “

Tranmere celebrate there 125th anniversary of the club this Saturday and have offered fans to get in the game from as little as £1.25.
