JBFox from www.leicester.vitalfootball.co.uk speaks in preparation for our game this Wednsday night.
1.What is your name?
2.How long have you supported the Foxes?
I went to my first game at Filbert Street when I was about 8 or 9, and have been hooked ever since.
3.Best moment supporting the club?
Winning the League Cup against you lot in 2000 was a highlight, personally my first experience at Wembley. Since then moments like this have been few and far between; we competed in the UEFA Cup the season after the League Cup win and got knocked out immediately by Red Star Belgrade. It’s been a bit of a downhill slide since!
4.Do you think Nigel Pearson is the right man for the job?
Without a doubt. I’ll admit I had my reservations when he first joined; but we’d been so used to having terrible managers in recent seasons so I think that partly clouded my judgment. Him and his backroom staff have worked wonders so far this season, making us a very difficult team to beat. Just about every single one of his signings have proved successful, and we’ve reaped the rewards.
5.How did former Tranmere star Iain Hume do for you lot?
He was a bit of a fans’ favourite really. Always gave 110%, and definitely had the ability to go with it. Personally I’d have him back here in a flash, but I know I’m in the minority of Leicester fans when I say that. Many believed that he was, to put it bluntly, a headless chicken, and don’t particularly want any players back who were a part of our terrible Championship decline.
6. And Danny Coyne? Now with us.
To be honest, he barely played for us. Being an understudy (and possibly even third choice?) to Ian Walker, his opportunities were very limited.
7.Who would you personally pay to leave the club?
Paul Dickov’s way past his best, and needs shipping out at the end of the season quickly. I think we’ve seen one good 45 minutes from him so far this season, and that’s not really good enough. It was clearly a Mandaric signing, and unfortunately he’s probably on a good wage with another year left on his contract.
8.Where do you think Tranmere will be at the end of the season?
If I’m honest, I don’t think you’ll make the playoffs this year, but I hope I’m wrong and you beat Leeds to it. If you can keep up your excellent home form then there’s no reason why not, but it will be difficult.
9.Where do you think Leicester will be at the end of the season?
I think I’d be a little bit stupid not to say Champions really. We’ve been so strong for the whole season, and despite some recent patchy form, we’ve remained unbeaten (a run which has stretched to 23 games) and been getting points on the board. I think we’re strong enough to hold out.
10. Score prediction?
I’ve got a bad feeling about this one, not too sure why. 1-0 Tranmere.
