Oldham supporter James McLean speaks to Vital Tranmere in preparation of the clash between Oldham and Tranmere this Saturday.

1.What is your name?

James Mclean

2.How long have you supported the Latics?

I’ve been a Latics fan for about 6/7 years

3.Best moment supporting the club?

Would have to be one of the ‘Giant-Killings’ against City and Everton.

4. What are your views on Joe Royle returning to the club?

With dwindling attendances and a poor set of results I felt the board were right to act and Big Joe until the end of the season could not have been a better PR move, with him being such a legend at the club. My greatest fear would be that nothing changes in his short spell and we fail to make the play-offs.

5. How is former Tranmere defender Reuben Hazel doing for you lot?

Reubes has arguably been one of Shez’s best signings. We didn’t expect much from him to be honest but he’s been Mr consistent, a permanent fixture in the starting 11. I was even contemplating getting his name on the back of a shirt!

6. Were you disappointed to see John Sheridan part company?

Shez is a Latics Legend, as a player he was a creative force that was integral to keeping us up; it’s therefore ironic that what we missed under him was a creative midfielder to open up defences. He was a breath of fresh air after having Ronnie’s ‘direct’ approach to football and it’s with deep regret he couldn’t take us that extra step…Unfortunately we had to get rid if we wanted to succeed this season.

7.Who would you personally pay to leave the club?

Dean Windass, Jan Budtz and Seb Hines…Nice to see Big Joe is taking care of that for me!

8.Where do you think Tranmere will be at the end of the season?

9.Where do you think Oldham will be at the end of the season?

10. Score prediction?

Latics 3-1 Tranmere

Vital Tranmere would like to thank James for taking his time out for participating in the interview.
