Manager Ronnie Moore has said he was delighted to see Tranmere pick up a good point in the game against Bristol City, but he was particularly pleased with the overall performance of the team on the day, because he really feels we could’ve gone on to take all three points.

Speaking to the Official Site following the game where Moore had seen us come from behind twice to take a point, the gaffer said.

‘I thought we were magnificent in the first half, we bossed the game. Our three midfield players were outstanding. They couldn’t get the grips with the way we were playing and we caused them no end of problems. I look around at this level and I don’t think there are three better midfield players than the three we had out there.’

Unfortunately though Moore admits there wasn’t much we could do about their opening goal, and it did come against the run of play for him, but he was just pleased to see us get ourselves back on level terms and so quickly with the goal from Cassidy, and Moore credits him for getting his just rewards after working his socks off since he rejoined the club on loan.

Clearly Moore will be hoping that goal will be the start of a run for the striker and hopefully that will be the case with him now back to proper fitness and starting to get really sharp.

As for Jason Koumas’s second equaliser on the day, Moore believes that kind of strike could’ve graced the top flight of football, let alone League One.

The disappointment from the game though came with their second goal and he felt it was an easy goal to concede and that we should’ve done much better with it, but he even qualifies that with saying it was two young lads on the back post, and ultimately they need things like to happen because they will learn from it and not make the same mistakes again.

Ending the interview, Moore just says at key points he wishes we’d have got a few extra bodies in the box because he really feels had we done so that we could’ve gone on and got the win as he felt there were more goals in us given our performance, but we just didn’t test their keeping enough and stretch him often enough.

With some of our performances this season, although it’s been said before, maybe this is a turning point for us and it will be the start of some kind of run now.
