A short time ago it was reported by the press that manager Ronnie Moore had been suspended by Tranmere Rovers pending the outcome of a Football Association investigation into a potential breach of betting rules.

It was announced a few days ago that Moore had been questioned by the FA as they continue their wide ranging investigation into ‘betting’ and the FA even refused to confirm or deny that they had opened an investigation on the 61 year old, but certainly no charges had been brought.

However tonight, the club has now confirmed that the suspension is with immediate affect and will last until the FA conclude their investigation.

Assistant manager John McMahon has been placed in temporary charge of the first team whilst this matter plays itself out.

The club also state they will be making no further comment until the outcome of the FA’s investigation.
