Tranmere Rovers have today signed Luke Daniels from West Bromwich Albion on a season long loan.

Barnes has been looking for a goalkeeper to replace Danny Coyne and John Achterberg and today Rovers have secured the services of Luke Daniels who is a former Manchester United trainee and England U18 international.

The 21-year old played for League Two outfit Shrewsbury Town on loan last season and helped the Shrews to a play off final at Wembley.

Manager John Barnes told www.tranmererovers.co.uk:

‘I’m pleased to be able to bring a young goalkeeper of Luke’s quality to Tranmere.

‘He had a very impressive season at Shrewsbury and has a good future ahead of him.

‘I’d like to thank West Brom manager Roberto Di Matteo for allowing Luke to join us on loan.’

Daniels has been given permission by West Brom to play in all three cup competitions for Tranmere and is likely to make his d├ębut against a Liverpool XI this Friday.
