Midfielder James Rowe has today put pen to paper on a new 12 month deal with Tranmere Rovers.

Rowe signed for us last summer after impressing during a trial with the club, and in his first season with us he has made 23 appearances, scoring twice, one of which helped us to a vital league win over MK Dons.

Speaking to the Official Site after the deal was signed, caretaker manager John McMahon said of the player.

‘It was a big step up for James to join our first team squad from non league football last summer but he has adapted really well. He’s energetic, has good feet and vision and has a fantastic attitude. I think he will get better and better the more games he gets.’

Rowe said himself that he was delighted to have signed the extension and impressed enough to have earned himself one.

‘I’ve enjoyed my first season here and am desperate for the club to get the result it needs against Bradford and stay in League 1. The fans have been great with me and hopefully we can send them home happy tomorrow.’

With the majority of his league appearances this season coming as a substitute, he’ll no doubt be hoping to kick on further next campaign and start the vast majority of games as he continues to develop and improve as a player.
