Chris Shuker has today returned to Prenton Park to take up a position on our coaching staff.

The winger was with us from 2006-10, making 144 appearances for the club across that time, scoring 18 goals.

He also played for new manager Micky Adams between 2012-14 at Port Vale and helped them get promoted to League One.

He hung up his boots at the end of last season.

Speaking to the Official Site Adams said of his appointment.

‘Chris is someone who knows the club well and I’m pleased he’s come back to join the coaching staff. He was a really positive influence on the dressing room (Port Vale) and I know he’ll be doing everything he can to help us climb the league.’

First team coach Alex Russell has now departed the club.
