Striker Cole Stockton has today penned a new three year deal with Tranmere Rovers.

The 20 year old was already under contract until the end of this season, but the club have secured him until the summer of 2017 now.

Having come through our Academy and made his debut back in January 2012, he has gone on to make 68 appearances for the club in total across all competitions and has scored ten times.

Tranmere are yet to lose a game he has scored in which is something he’ll be hoping to continue, especially if he can increase his strike rate.

Speaking to the Official Site as the deal was signed and sealed, manager Rob Edwards explained.

‘Cole has impressed me over the last couple of months. He’s a talented young football with loads of potential. He’s got a hammer of a right foot which will get us goals, but we’re trying to add more things to his game to.’

Edwards goes on to say that if he continues to show the same attitude and keeps applying himself and developing then he feels he’s got a very bright future in the game.

Speaking himself, Cole added.

‘I was really pleased the club offered me a new contract and I couldn’t wait to sign. I’ve enjoyed playing for the manager of the past couple of months and I am to repay him and the club on the pitch.’
