Manager Micky Adams has today loaned in Preston North End striker Jordan Hugill.

The 22 year old has moved to Prenton Park on a one month loan deal, and having impressed at non league level, Port Vale snapped him up in the summer of 2013.

He went on to score five times in 24 appearances and was named as their Young Player of the Year and then he made the move to Preston.

So far this season he has made six appearances, scoring twice.

The manager said of his arrival.

‘I’m delighted to be able to bring Jordan to the club. He’s a big, strong lad who never gives up. He’s a goalscorer and, with Cole Stockton unavailable, is someone who will add to our attacking options.’

Adams thanked Preston for helping the deal to go through.

Will Hugill potentially in line for his debut this weekend in our game against Cheltenham Town, Adams has however revealed that defender Josh Thompson is out of the game having picked up a head injury against Portsmouth.

The centre back came off with concussion so the rest and recovery period from that rules him out for this weekend.

Rob Taylor could also be missing after suffering a hamstring problem in the same game, but he will undergo a late fitness test.
