Physio and current Tranmere caretaker boss Les Parry admits he may be reluctant to become new the new Rovers manager if he was offered the job, but believes former Rovers striker and current temporary coach Wayne Allison also known as ‘the chief should apply for the job.

The chief has little experience managing after a brief spell at Chester City as caretaker boss, however he has had experience being an assistant manager at both League Two clubs Bury and Chesterfield.

Allison is currently completing a PhD in sports science and has a full UEFA “A” licence. Speaking to local newspaper Wirral Sport, Parry said:

“The chief was talking to me about applying for the job and was a bit embarrassed. But I said: ‘put in for the job. It makes no odds whether I want the job or don’t want it, you might as well apply for it”
