Tranmere lost out to play-off rivals Walsall 2-1 on Saturday, this despite taking the lead and looking on course to come away with all 3 points on the road.

Jennison Myrie-Williams gave Tranmere an early lead, but before half time they were reduced to 10-men when Ben Chorley was sent off. This gave Walsall a penalty but Danny Coyne saved Tommy Mooney’s spot kick and victory was looking good, however it wasn’t to be. Alassane N’Dour equalised for the hosts before Ishmel Demontagnac scored the winner.

The defeat leaves Tranmere just outside the play-off places, 2 points behind Leeds but they have a game in hand. Can Tranmere still make this play-offs? It is very tight but this defeat is a setback.
