It was a busy close to the January transfer window for manager Micky Adams with a number of deals organised.

Having already announced the capture of Iain Hume, his international clearance came through over the weekend, and whilst it wasn’t in in time for him to face Exeter, he will now be in contention for the game against Carlisle United at Prenton Park.

Having largely done his incoming deals ahead of the deadline window closing, we did see a number of departures in the last couple of days.

Striker George Donnelly has moved out to Southport on a loan deal until the end of the season. The 26 year old joined us back in September from Rochdale, but has only made 13 appearances for the club since then, and he had been made available for a move with him falling down the pecking order under Micky Adams.

Eliot Richards has also moved on following his arrival from Exeter over the summer. On deadline day he mutually agreed to terminate his contract at Prenton Park, and went on to rejoin former manager Rob Edwards at cheltenham Town.

He leaves us having made 16 appearances, scoring one goal.

Abdulai Baggie also cancelled his contract on a mutual basis. He leaves, having joined us back in the summer of 2012, having made 65 appearances for the club, scoring four times.

Midfielder James Rowe also terminated his contract at the club, having signed for us back in the summer of 2013. He leaves having made 36 appearances for us, scoring three times.

A final departure was on loan Shamir Fenelon, and he returns to his parent club Brighton and Hove Albion following the expiry of his three month spell at the club.

He made his debut for us in the game against Southend United back in November, and made a total of 13 appearances for us, scoring in the victories over Portsmouth and Accrington Stanley.
