Tranmere slipped to a 2-0 home defeat to fellow play-off contenders Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

The home side had the better of the opening exchanged but it was the visitors that took the lead against the run of play. Nathan Tyson (34) rounded Danny Coyne to score and the points were secured early in the second half when Wes Morgan (51) headed home. Tranmere twice went close but not close enough.

The win for Forest almost guarantees them a play-off spot now but Tranmere have now virtually seen their own play-off hopes ended. They are currently 5 points behind Leeds in the race for the final play-off berth, but Leeds do have a game in hand.

Can Tranmere still make it, or is it game over for another season?
