Tranmere Rovers have announced that agreement has been struck with Sheffield United over the transfer of James Wallace.

The midfielder has moved to the League One side for an undisclosed fee and has signed a three year deal with Nigel Clough’s side.

James initially joined us from Everton on loan and went on to make the deal permanent in the summer of 2012.

He has made 59 appearances for the club since then, scoring six times.

Football Operations Director and Club Secretary Mick Horton told the Official Site as the announcement was made.

‘The fee we have agreed with Sheffield United is good value for the time James was at the club and our investment in his development. We wish him the best of luck at his new club.’
