Crewe Capture Chris

There was shock news today as centre half, Chris McCready re-signs for Crewe Alexandra on a two year deal. Chris was a regular for Tranmere last season, and I personally thought he was one of our better players last season overall.

Surely this means another centre back must be on their way soon. Rumours have it that people like loanee John Thompson or MK Dons centre back, Ben Chorley could be soon entering the Prenton Park doors.

But if we want to be some sort of promotion hopers, we have to keep are best and most consistent players! Crewe have got a sound player in McCready, he certainly impressed most of the Tranmere faithful last year. But back to my original rant, how are we going to challenge for even the play-offs without McCready type players. In that sense I mean, consistent, sure defenders. Goodison started the season fantastically, but withered in the final few weeks, Thompson was a loan signing, but hopefully we will capture his signature on a regular basis, Sherrif started well also, but his form was inconsistent, along with Stockdale. We need a solid foundation, starting at the back, so here`s to hoping we replace this loss, and find some gems somewhere.

stupid decision but if he wanted to go then there is nothing we can do. really annoyed about this as he has been one of our better performers.

Bit of a puzzler! McCready should get a decent reception at Prenton Park next term.
All the best Chris, thanks for a season of great performances!

A little strange but I am pleased to see that Ronnie has a clear plan of who and what he wants. If he canfind this then we are onto a winner. I am optimistic about this coming season.

it was a shame to see him go, i agree that he was certainly one of your better players. A replacement is quite desperate now i guess, who would you most like to get in ???

I thought he was consistent but there were mistake from him and lapses which Goodison or Stockdale cleared up for him. He clearly wanted to join Steve Holland so as ‘white life’ says we cant stop that. The only thing which will determine the decision is who he is replaced with.

he could have stayed and become the backbone of your team like john terry at chelsea. strange decision but you just need to forget him and move on.
