Tranmere’s star in the making Dale Jennings expressed his delight after winning the Football League’s Apprentice of the Year for League One.
The youngster pipped Southampton’s Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and MK Dons’ George Baldock to the honour at an award ceremony in London the day after featuring in Rovers 1-0 win against Colchester.
In an interview with Tranmere’s official site, he said: ‘I am so happy to have won. Just to be one of the final three was great.
‘Everyone at the Centre of Excellence has really pushed me and helped me to get into the first team and I would like to thank them for their support.’
Jennings played just over an hour in last weeks victory at Prenton Park, and is in line for an appearance against Oldham next Monday live on Sky TV.
