Ex Peterborough United manager Darren Ferguson is the lastest name to be mentioned in the frame to fill the managerial vacany at Tranmere Rovers.
Ferguson, who was sacked by Peterborough United last Tuesday, is rumoured to want a quick return to football and Tranmere chairman Peter Johnson is ready to offer the young Scot that opportunity.
A move for Ferguson would be easy for Johnson as no compensation would have to be paid due to Ferguson now being a free agent.
The son of Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson led Peterborough to successive promotions before his somewhat harsh sacking five days ago.

SHOCKING THE WAY HE WAS TREATED BY PETERBOROUGH!
I agree with Merlin, was treated poorly by Posh. However, unless you’ve got big money to spend, he’ll be a risky choice as manager.
A good point PooliePoolie as he has had money to help him with Posh. Still think he’d be a cracking appointment though!
