A ‘scrappy game’ at the weekend resulted in Tranmere coming back home with a point, which away from home is always something you’ll accept.

Victoria Park was the setting on Saturday afternoon as Tranmere went in search of a win at Hartlepool United, although we had to be content with a point after a 0-0 draw.

Scott Flinders, who quickly raced off his line, was the savour for Carlisle as Cole Stockton looked to capitalise on a poor back pass to the Hartlepool ‘keeper.

Had Stockton got in you would have fancied him to score.

The best chance for Hartlepool came to Ryan Brobbel but he failed to hit the target from inside the box.

We could have won the game twice through Abdulai Bell-Baggie, firstly he failed to hit the target before a powerful effort just clipped the top of the bar before going over as the game ended goalless.
