Physiotherapist Les Parry has today been given the managers job until the end of the season.

Les, has guided Tranmere to the FA Cup 3rd round and has gone on an unbeaten run of 5 games, since he was appointed caretaker manager following the sacking of John Barnes.

Since taking over as caretaker manager there’s no doubt the performances have improved under Les and he has got things back to basic. Former Tranmere players Shaun Garnett and Wayne Allison have also been appointed as his assistants.

As Parry has taken the job,Rovers are now searching for a new physiotherapist, however in the mean time Les will do both jobs at once until the club find a replacement, club legend Chris Malkin could return to the club as he recently left his physiotherapy role at Aston Villa.

Chairman Peter Johnson told the clubs official website shortly after the appointment:

‘Les stepped into the breach, immediately stabilised the situation and there has been a significant improvement in the team’s performances.

Les, along with Shaun Garnett and Wayne Allison, has the respect of the players and the staff at Tranmere and I firmly believe he is capable of guiding us away from the bottom of the division.

I wish all three every success in their roles.’
