Tranmere’s poor league form continued today as they lost 1-0 to Carlisle United who now leapfrog them in the table into 7th with Rovers dropping out of the top six for the first time this season.

The only goal of the game came from United’s Kevin Gall who beat two Rovers defenders before curling a shot into Gavin Ward’s bottom left hand corner.

Tranmere’s most noteable chance of the game came from Chris Shuker’s early cross which Kevin Ellison met with a crossbar rattling header.

Chris Shuker also had a goal disallowed direct from a corner which had been adjudged not to have entered the field of play in the first place.

No win in six league games for Rovers then, we must beat Bournmouth at home a week today to get us out of this rut.
