Classy winger Sam Aiston has been released today by manager Ronnie Moore. Aiston scored three goals in twenty four starts last season, and was a popular player amongst the fans.
Throughout his career, Aiston has been plagued by injury problems that have damaged his obvious potential. He joins the ever growing list of players nearing there thirtieth birthdays without a contract in professional football.
Goalkeeper Steve Wilson has also left Prenton Park as Ronnie Moore looks to stamp his authority on the playing staff at Tranmere. Wilson made 13 appearances for Rovers last season, deputising for John Achterberg.
Tranmere have also been told that they are not one of the seeded sides to be in the first round of the Carling Cup, which makes a tough Championship encounter a likely proposition. The draw takes place on Wednesday 21st of June.

He’ll need to stamp his authority on your side pretty quickly and i’m sure he’ll be bringing in a few new faces.
