Ahmed who was unfortunately riddled with injuries over two out of the seven seasons he spent at Huddersfield Town, has revealed his excitement for a new start at Tranmere Rovers.
Adnan told Tranmere World:
‘I’m absolutely delighted. It’s a great move for me and a challenge I’m really relishing. I can’t wait for next season to begin.’
‘Tranmere is a big club. It was a move that appealed to me straight away, As soon as I met the gaffer and Dave Philpotts I knew this was the club for me. It seems that the gaffer is really looking to push forward next season.’
‘I had a bad luck with injuries. I missed two pre-seasons and it’s awlays had to come back in then. I’ve been there seven years and I appreciate everything the club has done for me. But I feel like I need a change and this is the perfect opportunity for me’
As well as Ronnie Moores first signing, I believe Adnan Ahmed is Tranmere Rovers first ever player of Pakistani descent.
In January 2007, Ahmed went to Lincoln City on a one week trial, the Huddersfield Manager, Peter Jackson said
‘It will be a good experience for him and will hopefully make him appreciate what he’s got here’.
VITAL TRFC are looking for any news from Huddersfield fans as to what the manager meant by making him appreciate what he’s got here. Did he mean this in respect that he wasn’t a grateful or respectful player? Or was he just referring to the fact he should appreciate how well your team has treated him?

I think he meant going to a club of less stature, in terms of cash facilities etc, might make him appreciate the Town set up more.
Have he done your research before writting that comment if that is what he meant? I dont think so. We are set to have unbeleivable facilities with regeneration of our ground due in the coming years and a new training ground to be built. There is also the prospect of promotion in the next three years with us. I think he has been very lucky to get a move away from you to us.
