Caretaker manager Less Parry hailed his teams defending last night as ‘magnificent`.

Tranmere secured their place in the 3rd round of the FA Cup after beating Aldershot 2-1 at the Recreation Ground last night.

Rovers will now welcome Premier League Side Wolves to Prenton Park in the 3rd round of the FA Cup.

Parry told Tranmere Player after the game:

“The whole of the back four did very well because Aldershot are a good side and really tested us”

“They had two players, Marvin Morgan and Scott Donnelly who gave us a lot of problems, particularly early on. But once we came to terms with that, the defending was magnificent.”

Meanwhile the physiotherapist also took time out to praise the 294 Rovers fans who made the long trip on a cold and wet night to Aldershot.

Les finished:

“For so many of our fans to get here on a wet night was very heartening.”

Parry`s men next travel to Southampton in League One this Saturday, as Rovers will look to extend their unbeaten run to 6.
