20 year old Luton midfielder Steven O’Leary has joined Tranmere on a months loan from Championship side Luton Town.

Brian Little said: ‘Steven played an important part in Luton’s promotion campaign. He is a talented and versatile midfield player and I am very impressed with his overall play. This gives us temporary cover while Danny Harrison and Jason McAteer are unavailable but we are still looking to bring in players to add to the squad on a long term basis.’

O’Leary made 20 appearances for Luton in last seasons successful promotion campaign.

Update:

Steven O’Leary had to take to the pitch on Saturday with a nameless shirt! The club explained that the kits with names are ‘pre-assembled’ as sets and the order didn’t arrive in time, so the player had to play in a shirt displaying only his squad number, which is 19.

Ok, not the most exciting bit of news ever I agree.
