Tranmere welcome Swansea City to Prenton Park tommorow in possibly the biggest game for both sides this season.

Swansea currently lie 9th on 52 points, four points behind 6th placed Rovers.

After narrowly missing out on promotion to the Championship last season (City lost on penalties in the final to Barnsley), Swans fans were confident of a strong automatic promotion push.

Things havent quite gone according to plan though and manager Kenny Jackett was axed last month meaning old favourite Roberto Martinez taking up the reigns at the Liberty Stadium.

Tranmere meanwhile picke dup a routine victory last week at home to Chesterfield and will be looking for a big performance against the South Wales outfit.

Vital Quotes:

Gavin Ward has spoke to the official site pre match, he said:

‘We can’t rely on other teams, we’ve just got to what we can do and let them worry about us. There’s ten games to go and it’s very tight. Teams are going to be looking over their shoulders wherever they are.

‘It was imperative we won against Chesterfield on Friday after the defeat the week before. You’ve got to win your home games if you’re going to do anything in the League.

‘We’re in sixth place and we’ve got to look ahead at what we can do about our future. What’s gone has gone. If we can get eight wins out of the ten we’ll be promoted! All the lads are aware of what is at stake. There is a lot of football to play and I’m sure there will be a lot of twists and turns.

Former Rovers player Andy Robinson who returns with the Swans tommorow says he wants it to be ‘third time lucky at Prenton Park’

‘It’s a massive game we really want to win, explained Robinson, who spent six months at Tranmere before signing for the Swans. ‘I’m a big Tranmere fan, behind the Swans of course, and I used to go and watch them as a boy with my father.

‘But I’ve scored on my last two trips there and hopefully it will be third time lucky tomorrow. This time though I hope it’s the winner.’

Tranmere Rovers Team News:

John Thompson is the only unavailable player, John Mullin & Ian Goodison are both available after being doubts during the week.

Player to watch: The Whole Team

The lads really need to get a result tommorow, with Blackpool at home against Brighton, anything other than a Rovers win will probably see us move out of the playoff spots.

Swansea City Team News:

Dennis Lawrence and Kevin Amankwaah are back from bans for Swansea.

Kevin Austin (heart scare), Darren Pratley (shoulder), Adebayo Akinfenwa (broken leg) and Richard Duffy (foot) are unavailable.

Player to watch: Andy Robinson

The Birkenhead born midfielder always has a good game against us and will need to be kept quiet tommorow!

Match Facts & Stats

Tranmere brought a hard earned point back from the Liberty Stadium in October.

0-0 the final score that day.

Match Prediction:

Tranmere 2-1 Swansea – I predict a tough game and an even encounter but think Rovers can continue their good home form and pick up maximum points against the Swans.
