Tranmere Rovers today were awarded for there fantastic performance at home to Leicester last night winning the League Manager’s Association Award for performance of the week.

The foxes were unbeaten in 22 games prior to the clash last night at Prenton Park and Rovers ended there unbeaten run by out-classing them winning 2-0 thanks to goals from ‘Skipper Antony Kay and Steven Jennings.

The Award, which is sponsored by F&C Investments, saw a panel consisting of Chairman Howard Wilkinson, Sir Alex Ferguson, Joe Royle, Dave Bassett and Barry Fry all agree that the game which ended Leicester’s unbeaten run was the worthy of the Award.

Manager Ronnie Moore will also be rewarded for winning the LMA Award with a specially engraved crystal football in a presentation to be screened on Sky Soccer Saturday.
