PooliePoolie Site Journalist of VitalHartlepool.co.uk speaks in preparation when Rovers travel to Victoria Park on Tuesday night.

1.What is your name?

PooliePoolie

2.How long have you supported Pool?

Since I was a kid. Went to my first match at about 8 or 9 years old.

3.Best moment supporting the club?

There’s been so many in recent years. The play-off final against Sheffield Wednesday was a great day, even though we lost. The 3-0 win over our local rivals Dalington in 2007 and the win over Stoke earlier this season are also great memories.

4.Who would you like as Manager at Hartlepool?

I don’t have anyone in mind but I’d like someone to come in with some new ideas and freshen the place up a bit. It all seems a bit stale at the minute.

5. How did Ian Moore do for you lot during his short spell?

Personally, I liked him. I don’t think the fans here quite took to him but I thought he looked a decent player at this level and he chipped in a few goals too. I think he was a loss to our squad when he went.

6. And Godwin Antwi?

The complete opposite! While he had the build and pace to do well he just couldn’t concentrate for the whole game and would end up costing the team goals.

7.Who would you personally pay to leave the club?

I think with our squad being so thin at the minute I wouldn’t want anyone to leave. If you had to pick someone I guess our young striker David Foley would be a candidate. 93 league games and he still hasn’t scored a goal.

8.Where do you think Tranmere will be at the end of the season?

I think you’ll have a good challenge for the play-offs but ultimately finish outside the top 6. Top 10 looks a good bet though.

9.Where do you think Hartlepool will be at the end of the season?

Who knows? I don’t think we’ll go down so I think it’ll be somewhere between 14th and 17th.

And finally..

10. Score Prediction?

Pools to win 3-1.

Think it will be closer than 3-1 amigo.

‘Pool’s two leg win over us the year they lost to Sheff. Wed. in the play-offs was one of the best matches at Prenton Park in recent years. Michael Nelson played a blinder that night. I was surprised he didn’t catch the eye of any higher graded clubs.

  • Yuilly says:

Nelson has been inconsistent the last 18 months or so; this has affected our ability to put unbeaten runs together as he was the lynchpin to our defence being soild. He has shown flashes in recent weeks of what he’s capable of. We’re now relying on an all-loan frontline, changing every week!
