Today Ronnie Moore told us his pre match thoughts for tomorrow and has admitted the away form must be sorted sooner rather then later.

Rovers have not won an away game since October 18th, and face Cheltenham tomorrow without the influential Ian Goodison.

Moore told Tranmere World:

‘It’s got to be sorted – we haven’t won away since October 18th. This Goodison thing is more annoying than anything. If Goodison had stayed on we’d have won the game and we wouldn’t be talking about not winning away.

‘It’s gone and we can’t do anything about it. We have to go to Cheltenham and build confidence in the back four. They’re going to have to be strong, because Cheltenham will get balls into our box.

‘We don’t know what the damage is to Ian’s ankle yet, it’s still swollen. It’s looking like it’s probably three or four weeks he’ll be missing for. If I was a centre half at this club I’d be going berserk listening to my manager talking about Goodison and I’d want to show him we can play without him. They have to prove we don’t have to get a centre half in.

‘Ian shouts at people and has a go at people. When he’s not there we’re a bit nice and we don’t want to fall out. I don’t want people pointing fingers and showing people up, but if someone needs a kick up the backside during a game?all good sides have their leaders.

‘When Goodison is there he keeps us up in a straight line. When he’s not there we drop and we did that on Saturday and invited Crewe on.’

Moore also revealed that Gareth Edds will return to the squad in midfield which could see skipper Antony Kay move back to defence.
